Technology for resilience.

Romanian Cyber Space Initiative (ROCSI) investigates difficult civic, technical, and public-interest problems, then turns what we learn into prototypes, open tools, and working systems. We are open to collaboration with researchers, institutions, technical teams, and organizations interested in applied R&D.

Ideas, put to work.

Active projects turn ROCSI’s broader research questions into systems, experiments, and useful infrastructure. Each one connects several fields rather than living inside a single discipline.

01 / Civic TechnologyActive development

Platforma Civică

Problem
Civic information and participation are fragmented across institutional sites, forms, documents, and processes that can be difficult to discover or interpret.
What ROCSI built
A live civic-tech beta that brings public civic content, submissions, polls, institutional context, and assisted document and official-request tools into one environment.
Evidence / status
Active / betaPublic and authenticated workflows are operational, with Romanian and English interfaces, privacy controls, and explicit boundaries between platform activity and formal institutional delivery.

Connector for NMKR

Problem
WordPress sites need a reliable way to import and present remote NMKR project and token data without turning every page view into a live upstream dependency.
What ROCSI built
An open-source WordPress connector that synchronizes Cardano and Solana project and token data through the NMKR API, persists local state, and exposes responsive site components.
Evidence / status
Active / open sourceThe implementation includes run-scoped synchronization, progress and history, operational metrics, stale-run recovery, deduplication, reconciliation, and responsive shortcodes.

Telemetry Attestation Gateway

Problem
A verifier may need evidence about a narrow telemetry property without receiving the complete sensitive telemetry dataset behind that claim.
What ROCSI built
A simulation-first experiment that evaluates selected vehicle and drone telemetry predicates and represents them with narrowly scoped zero-knowledge proofs.
Evidence / status
Experimental / researchProof scope, provenance, freshness, identity, key management, and operational cost remain under evaluation; flight control, command authorization, and autonomous decision execution are explicitly excluded.

03 /Research areas

Different disciplines. Shared questions.

ROCSI works across durable research and development areas that overlap in practice. The relationships matter as much as the individual fields.

04 /Open development

Progress is better when it’s shared.

ROCSI works openly where practical: not as a slogan, but as a way to make questions, experiments, engineering decisions, and release history more inspectable and useful.

A useful trail matters: what was asked, what was tried, what the evidence changed, and what was ultimately built or released.

research → experiment → build → share

  1. 01research

    Start with a question.

Frame the uncertainty, constraint, or public-interest problem clearly enough to investigate and test.

  2. 02experiment

    Make the experiment tangible.

Turn assumptions into a prototype, interface, data flow, or other artifact that can produce evidence.

  3. 03build

    Learn from the evidence.

Inspect failures, constraints, and trade-offs, then carry what survives into deliberate engineering work.

  4. 04share

    Leave a useful trail.

Share code, notes, decisions, releases, or reproducible evidence where doing so is practical and useful.

05 /Publishing

From the workbench.

ROCSI publishes the useful residue of the work: research notes, engineering decisions, investigations, observations, releases, and project milestones.

Useful work leaves more than a finished artifact. It leaves context that others can inspect, reuse, challenge, or build on.
